Chipotle Continues Atlanta-Area Groundswell, Opens Four New Restaurants With Drive-Thrus

Locations are part of quick-service chain's plans to open up to 165 new restaurants in 2020, with more than half including a 'Chipotlane.'

Before the end of the year, Chipotle Mexican Grill will have opened four more restaurants in the Atlanta-area, all including the company’s latest roll-out: Chipotlanes.

At these locations, customers will be able to place their order through the Chipotle mobile app or website, then use the new drive-thru pick up lanes to pull up to a window at the specified time for their order, all without ever having to leave their car.

It is not a traditional drive-thru where customers place their orders at a speaker on a menu board.

The restaurants with the new drive-thru lanes will be located in Fayetteville at 1135 Highway 85 N, in Dawsonville at 285 Marketplace Blvd., and in Peachtree City at 101 City Circle.

A fourth location recently opened in Austell, at 3999 Austell Rd.

The focus on takeout, digital orders, and overall innovation since Brian Niccol took over the CEO reigns at Chipotle is likely a contributing factor to the fast-casual restaurant’s steady growth in recent quarters.

According to a company statement, Chipotlanes are being added during a time when “digital orders are at an all-time high.”

It also notes that “Chipotlanes are the fastest way to get Chipotle.”

In 2020, the chain plans to open between 150 to 165 new locations, with more than half including a “Chipotlane.”

All new Georgia locations will be open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week.
