Qiao Lin Hotpot is planned for a space in Duluth at 3473 Old Norcross Road, according to a building permit application with Gwinnett County. The more than 6,600-square-foot space is located at the McDaniel Square Shopping Center.
The concept has been around in China for decades, but the first U.S. location of Qiao Lin Hotpot opened in Chicago in 2020, “bringing the authentic taste of Chongqing’s spicy hotpot to the city.” Chongqing is a city in southwestern China.
Qiao Lin Hotpot has since expanded to a second Chicago location and to Boston and Seattle. The website lists an Atlanta location as “coming soon.”
Hot pot is a dining experience in which diners cook an array of foods in simmering broth. The menu includes a variety of broth flavors – like tomato, mushroom or herbal chicken – with dippable items like meat, seafood, veggies, dumplings and more, alongside a variety of sauces. Pots range from a single variety, a half-and-half, or a triple flavor so diners can try up to three broths.
