Baja-style Mexican eatery Chido + Padre’s, the latest restaurant from Southern Proper Hospitality (SPH), will open for lunch and dinner, with weekend brunch coming soon, starting Tuesday, March 13, according to a press release Monday.

The restaurant, at 128 East Andrews Drive, replaces Smokebelly BBQ.
“Our goal is to bring the party back to Buckhead in an authentic, contemporary manner,” Tory Bartlett, CEO of Southern Proper Hospitality, said in the release.
“With Chido + Padre’s, we have created a Baja-Mex menu and a festive atmosphere around Western Mexico’s unique melding of Mediterranean and Mexican flavors and the spirited customs of the region.”
Here’s a snapshot of some of the menu items executive chef Jonathan Mercado will be serving up, taking advantage of the restaurant’s mesquite wood-burning grill:
Antojitos
Ceviche del Mercado Tostada – Fresh catch of the day, lime juice, tomato, onion, radish ($14)
Smoked Chicken Flautas – Avocado crema, salsa sucio, red pickled onion ($8)
Ensaladas Y Sopa
Grilled Romaine – Corn, rajas, radish, chayote, cumin-chili crunch, avocado dressing ($9)
Ensalada de Betabel – Beets, watercress, queso fresco, mango, sour orange vinaigrette ($9)
Pozole Verde – Smoked chicken, hominy, salsa verde with traditional accompaniments ($8)

Creamed Corn & Chayote Tamales – Rajas, queso fresco, corn, salsa sucio, radish ($15)
Baja Style Fish of the Day – Coconut rice, tomatillo-avocado sauce, pomegranate seeds (mkt)
Cochinita Pibil – Pork shoulder in banana leaf, sour orange, achiote, pickled red onion ($22)
De la Parilla (served with arroz verde y frijoles negros)
Jumbo White Shrimp – Diablo vinaigrette ($22)
Chicken Paillard – Serrano citrus marinated, Tequila spiked borracho sauce ($18)
Skirt Steak – 8 oz, guajillo tequila marinated, salsa sucio ($24)
On the beverage side of things, Chido + Padre’s will serve Margaritas, house specialty cocktails, wine and a variety of Mexican, domestic and craft beers, in addition to the lobations served in The Bandida Bar: tequila, mezcal varietals, and off-the-menu cocktail creations.
