A former office space in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood of Atlanta could soon be transformed into Chicago’s Maxwell Street-Styled Polish, a takeout joint.

Chicago’s Maxwell Street-Styled Polish would specialize in “Maxwell Street Polish,” a grilled or fried Polish sausage with onions and yellow mustard, pickle, and green sport peppers, served on a bun.

The sandwich traces its origins to Chicago’s Maxwell Street market, and has been called one of “the classic foods synonymous with Chicago.”

A permit application late last week was filed with City of Atlanta to buildout the takeout-only restaurant, at 211 Peachtree Street SW.

Tateira Surles, one of the owners behind Chicago’s Maxwell Street-Styled Polish, confirmed the plans in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA.)

Surles did not immediately provide any additional information to WNA around the concept.
