Located within the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta — which is undergoing a complete transformation — the incoming restaurant is the second outpost of The Americano, joining the 2020 opening of its first location in Scottsdale, Ariz.
“Atlanta is known for its unique culture and character, vibrant energy, and booming culinary scene, so choosing it as the next home for The Americano was a no-brainer,” Conant said Thursday. “We are lucky to have this beautiful space at The Intercontinental Hotel. Buckhead is a major hub for both business and tourism in Atlanta, so I am thrilled to have an opportunity to provide an unparalleled dining experience to the city’s locals and visitors alike.”
Similar to its Scottsdale counterpart, The Americano’s menu will feature a range of dishes, from fine steaks, including prime and American Wagyu beef, to house-made pasta, organic salads, Italian antipasti, and Mediterranean seafood.
The restaurant will also feature a bespoke café for coffee, handmade pastries, and other delectable morning treats. Conant’s culinary offering shares the spotlight with an inventive cocktail program that is playful and intricately devised. The wine list at The Americano features 200 selections from Italy and the United States, including landmark labels and emerging producers.
“The Americano gives me an elevated, creative outlet to really hone in on a more refined style of cooking, one that is a culmination of my travels,” Conant said. “Guests will recognize some dishes that have helped define my career as well as many others in that same spirit of crave-ability and refinement. When you arrive at The Americano, there’s an unmistakable energy and I look forward to bringing that same excitement, precision, and sincerity to the Atlanta menu.”
Modern in approach and Italian in spirit, The Americano Atlanta is set to have a “chic, moody atmosphere that will complement the elevated ambiance of Buckhead.” Once open to the public, guests will be greeted by custom sculptural artwork, an island bar area and lounge, a large outdoor dining patio and show-stopping lighting. Unique wire light fixtures add a warm glow, while pops of green add a cool touch to the interior design. The café also features al fresco seating on the cozy patio.
“The Americano bridges the gap between the deliberate touch of alta cucina and the soul of cucina rustica,” said Conant. “In other words, guests will experience the top quality, distinctive flavor profiles, stunning presentation and superior level of service of a high-end restaurant, but with more approachability.”
