Charleston, South Carolina-based pizza catering operation, Coastal Crust, a vintage Chevy Truck retrofitted with a Mugnaini open-hearth pizza oven, is expanding to Atlanta in November, the company in a press release Tuesday announced.
The company will add a truck to the market operating as Southern Crust Catering Co. on the heels of expanding to Greenville, S.C.
Southern Crust will specifically cater to private and corporate events, rehearsal dinners, weddings and more, serving Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza.
The Atlanta truck – a “classic 1953 Chevy” – has been customized with Moore & Giles leather and reclaimed wood siding. It’s also has a custom tap system for pouring brews, a sound system, and refrigeration for storing salads.
To accompany Southern Crust’s pizza options, the menu includes salads, wood-fired focaccia bread, as well as appetizers like marinated olives, burrata, and pancetta-wrapped figs, entrees like pistachio pesto pizza, and desserts like Georgia chess pie.
