Castleberry Park by Bolton Atlanta LP, a mixed-use complex adjacent to the $1.6-billion Mercedez-Benz Stadium and the historic Castleberry Hill district, this week moved into its next phase — “wood construction” on the residential component of the 2.4-acre project. News of the residential construction getting underway this week arrives as the Reverb by Hard Rock hotel nears completion. The hotel was supposed to open in November, but its bookings have been pushed into mid-December.
“Castleberry Park mixed-use wood construction has started,” TSW, the planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm for the project, this week posted to its Facebook page alongside progress photos. “Project Manager John Hand is onsite to check on progress.” TSW — which is also designing several pocket parks for Midtown — confirmed the news Friday in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA).
“There will be five levels of wood-framed construction,” Hand told WNA. “Getting the first level of wood construction is important as it lets the rest of the framing go a lot more smoothly, and hopefully faster. This is part of why TSW was on-site, inspecting field conditions and coordinating details with the contractor, Power Build.”
In addition to the 195-room Reverb, Castleberry Hill’s now-under-construction residential mixed-use will include 125 apartments and 30,000 square feet of ground-level retail, according to the latest marketing materials for the project. It has a centralized parking structure shared between the uses as well as parks, lawns, and “other supporting facilities.”
Plans originally called for Castleberry Park to be completed by 2020 with the Reverb hotel debuting late last year. In total, the project is at least delayed by one year, placing the residential mixed-use component’s opening likely in November 2021, according to Hand. “As one can imagine there is an extra level of care and detail that goes into a project with split timelines and multiple parties. As such the entire team is working together to get the best outcomes from the project as a whole, hotel, and mixed-use.”

Does anyone know the status of the old NS building refurbishing project, ala PCM, that’s a block away? And whether Nelson st. bridge is getting re-built?
Not sure about the status update but they should be rebuilding the bridge whether they can save the originally structure or have to build a new one. Though idk how things have changed in these past months if at all
