This is the 62nd restaurant for the brand in the Atlanta area and the 113th in Georgia. The new location is owned and operated by experienced multi-unit franchisee Farid Khan.
The restaurant at 3056 Jodeco Road was formerly a Hardee’s. Over the past year, 50% of Captain D’s new restaurant openings have been conversions. Captain D’s is now the second generation in former locations of 18 different brands, with more conversions planned throughout the year, according to an announcement.
“We’re pleased to open the latest Captain D’s through our conversion expertise. Farid recognized the valuable property in his market that presented a ripe opportunity to repurpose into a Captain D’s restaurant,” said Brad Reed, chief development officer of Captain D’s.
Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D’s has more than 530 restaurants in 23 states. The company was founded in 1969.
The menu includes a variety of seafood, from freshly prepared entrees to the signature batter-dipped fish. The restaurants also offer grilled items such as shrimp, tilapia and salmon, as well as hushpuppies, desserts and freshly brewed, Southern-style sweet tea.
Captain D’s in McDonough is open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
