A Cantonese restaurant on Buford Highway is planning a second location in Duluth.
A permit was filed in Gwinnett County to bring Canton House Restaurant to 2255 Pleasant Hill Rd., a shopping center in the Gwinnett Place area.
The restaurant would occupy nearly 23,000 square feet, according to the permit. Documents filed with the county suggest the location would also function as a wedding and event hall.
Cam Vuong, president of Canton House Restaurant, wrote in a letter to county officials that the renovation is expected to cost about $1 million.
Canton House Restaurant is currently located at 4825 Buford Highway NE in Chamblee. Its menu features dim sum and dishes such as Kung Pao chicken.
A request for comment about the new location was not immediately returned.
