Cantina Loca is an all-new concept owned by Wrig Management’s head Brian Will that is coming to Sugar Hill in Spring 2021, a Facebook announcement confirmed. This taqueria will serve margaritas and Tex-Mex cuisine to the growing local restaurant scene in downtown Sugar Hill. At 5010 W Broad St NE, Cantina Loca will be part of the Broadstone Sugar Hill development, which opened in September as part of the Sugar Hill Town Center Master Development.

“Cantina Loca will likely be “the” place to be for casual outdoor dining,” Todd Semrau of Urban Eats Consulting Group, who represented the landlord, told What Now Atlanta. Cantina Loca is looking to be the go-to spot for the “t-shirt and flip flop crowd,” drawn in by the innovative Tex Mex favorites and “one of the best margaritas around town.” Wrig Management also owns Central City Tavern, Back Alley Bar and Grill, The Derby Sports Bar, The Tavern House, and XBar at the Exchange. Will’s restaurant management company has been working with local businesses of Alpharetta, Buford, and Sugar Hill since 2010.

“As downtown Sugar Hill continues to grow, residents are seeking out local, delicious restaurants and destinations that are right on their doorstep,” says Todd Oglesby from Alliance Residential Company, according to the official press release. “It is our good
fortune that Cantina Loca chose to partner with us as they make an excellent addition to the community we are trying to build. We are thrilled our residents will have access to this exciting amenity.”

Cantina Loca’s menu will offer a variety of upscale Mexican dishes and cocktails. The restaurant will also feature a spacious patio that will overlook the City’s E-Center Entertainment district and will be weatherized with all seasons in mind: complete with fans, electric heaters, and roll-down covers to protect from wind and rain. Cantina Loca will take all necessary precautions for staff and customer safety in response to the ongoing COVID pandemic, alongside other walk-up storefronts and restaurants within four separate buildings designed by Niles Bolton Associates and leased by Oakhurst Realty Partners.
