Decatur on Thursday welcomed Blue Ocean CBD | CBD American Sherman, a specialty store that retails products made from cannabidiol, a type of cannabis oil known as CBD.
Blue Ocean CBD, at 3845 North Druid Hills Rd., Suite 203, offers CBD-based products that range from a full skincare line of lotions, ointments, and serums, to its signature line of patent-pending water soluble oils and tinctures.
The store also offers CBD-based products for pets.
“Owners Michael and Deniz Dunne are committed to helping the community and believe in the beneficial properties of CBD, which has long been used as a natural remedy,” a company spokesman in an email told What Now Atlanta Thursday.
“We have seen tremendous benefits for individuals using CBD-based products for neuropathic pain, arthritis pain, anxiety, sleep disorders and depression,” Deniz said in a prepared statement.
CBD oil, which has less than .3 percent of the hallucinogenic THC, and thus does not create a “high” or any form of intoxication for users, is legal to sell in Georgia, according to the spokesperson.
CBD-based products are not regulated by the FDA and fall into the “supplement” category, she said.
To celebrate the grand opening, the entire store is 10 percent off now through September 15.
In addition, for every product purchased at Blue Ocean CBD Decatur now through the 15th, the retailer will donate 10 percent of the proceeds to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and LifeLine Animal Project.
