Currently in the liquor license application process with the City of Atlanta, Candler Rail Brewery will feature eight to ten rotating beer selections, Allen Porter told What Now Atlanta in an email seeking an update on the project originally planned for an early-2020 debut. This is the fourth brewpub started by Porter who is the head brewer. Its house-brewed beers will be similar in style to those at Porter Pizza & Brewery in Sandy Springs and Porter Brew & Cue Brewery in Dunwoody. The beers will be served out of eight, 7 BBL | Brite/Serving Tanks that are stacked behind the bar.

“The look and feel of the restaurant is a comfortable, rustic atmosphere featuring decorations like a shipping container framed on the wall,” Porter said. “There will be a beer garden out back, so the restaurant will have ample outside seating.”

On the food side of things, Candler Rail Brewery will offer “eclectic” tacos like the “Rail Yard Taco,” a taco packed with fried chicken, green chilies, pico de giallo, lettuce, mixed cheese, poblano sauce, and queso.

  1. I’m not so sure they’re going to be successful getting that liquor license: there is a law that you cannot brew beer within 300 feet of someone’s home…and, they’re about 50 feet. It would be incredibly hypocritical of the City to bend the law for this business; and, considering it’s owned by people who don’t even live in the City, why should they damage the property values of City residents for the profit of suburbanites?

    1. since when would being within walking distance of a taco place be detrimental to home values? seriously this is such a short sighted perspective from a year ago, and so glad your opinion didnt matter in this. Been enjoy Candler Rail since it opened.
