It is coming to 12050 Etris Rd in the Sweet Apple Village shopping center of Roswell. The location was previously home to BoneYard Kitchen and Tap, a family-friendly grill and sports bar that closed its doors in 2019. Before that the space was occupied by another Mexican eatery, Blue Agave Mexican Bar and Grill.

The forthcoming location is being brought to the area by owner Jannira Martinez who, along with husband Pablo, owns the eight-restaurant family chain. Papa’s and Beer was started in 2006 by Jannira’s father, Javier Gomez.

“Yes indeed we are opening our first ever location in GA,” Jannira said in an email to What Now Atlanta. “We are excited for this new location as our other locations in the Carolinas are a totally different decor. Everything that is in this new location was hand selected and brought from Mexico.”

The grand opening is tentatively set for January 1.

The self-described “California style” restaurant serves authentic Mexican fare like tortilla soup, taco salads, and fajita nachos. Entrees include over 20 dishes from quesadillas, tacos (with Mexico City, California, and Hawaiian options), burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas. Specialty cocktails, house and Cadillac margaritas, wine, and beer is also offered.

  1. We love Papa’s and Beer. We eat there every time we are in Asheville. By the way, papa in English is potato. We were told that potato chips are sometimes served with salsa in California, which is where they get the name. Perhaps they intended Papas and not Papa’s in the name. Regardless, glad they are coming to Atlanta.

  2. This is different from the Kitchen and Cocktails opening at Perimeter Mall, right? There’s gonna be a lot of confusion later. Maybe the other one can just be Nala’s?
