The “farm-to-tray” burger joint, situated in the 77 12th Street development, went dark mid-day Sunday without warning.

When reached by phone, the restaurant’s voicemail plays details of the closing on loop.

“After several years in the Midtown Atlanta community, we have made the difficult decision to close the Midtown Atlanta Burgerfi location,” according to the voicemail.

“This is strictly a business decision, and the closure is a part of BurgerFi’s overall strategy to be able to provide our better burgers across the nation and continue to give guests the best experience possible.”

Additional locations could open in the Atlanta-area as the brand “continues to expand.”

Four existing locations remain in Georgia.

“Guests can still enjoy dining at our four Atlanta-area locations at CNN Center, Alpharetta, Lawrenceville, and Kennesaw.”

In March 2017, the burger restaurant shuttered its Emory Point location (set to be replaced by Desta Ethiopian Kitchen).

  1. The 12th and Midtown development seems to be cursed when it comes to retail tenants. Mi Cocina, Max’s Wine Dive, CB2, and now Burger Fi. All went dark within a couple years.

    1. That’s because Shirley Gouffon is an idiot. The greed of that landlord knows no end and Shirley and crew are clueless as to how to market urban retail spaces.
