Megdalawit Tessema is the new owner of Whisky Mistress, Buckhead’s cocktail bar and entertainment venue located at 3161 Maple Drive NE. The bar was formerly owned by William ‘Billy’ Allen, and Tessema confirmed the sale over a phone interview with What Now Atlanta saying Allen is still with the establishment in some capacity, although she did not elaborate. “It’s more of a change in management,” she added.

Tessema did not disclose when the sale took place, however an LLC filing with the State of Georgia indicates the company now operating Whisky Mistress was incorporated on June 23rd.

In addition to featuring a different live band each night of the weekend, Thursday-Sunday, Whisky Mistress offers a food menu of bar bites like Fried or Grilled Wings, Lil’ Chicken Sliders, and Lobster Mac n’ Cheese, just to name a handful.

Allen, meanwhile, is in the process of opening a new restaurant and piano bar, The World Famous Billy Allen’s, at 12655 Birmingham Highway in Alpharetta. Allen has not responded to requests for comment, so the exact opening date for the live music venue has not been made clear, however a recent post on the Billy Allen’s Milton social media account shares the new restaurant is “one inspection away from setting our opening date.”
