Cloud 9 Yogurt and Cupcakes to open second location at Lenox Square Mall.
There’s not room for both trendy foods at its new location, but Cloud 9 Yogurt and Cupcakes will be serving up its most profitable item in Buckhead.
The yogurt and cupcake shop located on Woodstock Road in Roswell is bringing its gourmet cupcakes to the Lenox Square Mall food court.
Cloud 9 will replace the now shuttered Baja Bistro (to the left of Chick-Fil-A), according to Michael Pettenato, co-owner of the cupcake and yogurt shop.
But the new 500-square-foot space will only allow for cupcake production, he said.
“Yogurt has more transactions but usually when somebody orders cupcakes, they order a dozen,” Pettenato told What Now Atlanta over the phone Wednesday.
Pettenato, who began his foodie career working front house for three top rated New York City restaurants including Mario Batali’s Babbo Restaurant, is confident his cupcakes are the best in-town.
“As a server, you learn everything you need to know about food.”
Cloud 9 filed a permit with City of Atlanta early August to begin construction on the build-out.
Pettenato told What Now Atlanta Cloud 9 at Lenox could be open as early as this Friday, pending on scheduled health inspections.
As for other Cloud 9 locations, Pettenato couldn’t disclose future plans, but he did say the cupcake and yogurt shop has been contacted for franchise opportunities.
