When complete, the 8,000-square-foot development will consist primarily of office space with ground-level retail.

Bread & Butter Bakery and Cafe will be The Wilbur’s anchor tenant, taking up 2,000 square feet on the street level, Cross-Town Realty’s Jason Eden, who heads up the leasing and marketing for the development, confirmed with What Now Atlanta.

The Covington-based coffee shop–not to be confused with Inman Park’s Bread and Butterfly–will offer its own roasted coffee, and baked goods, in addition to prepared foods throughout the day.

This leaves 900 square feet of space on the ground level and on level two, 4,000 square feet worth of new, office space that could offer space for 12 to 39 people, available.

“The builders are hoping to get the permits approved in the next two to three months,” a contractor with the project shared with WNA over the phone.

“This kind of build takes about 8 to 12 months so it will be completed by at least March 2021.”

The Wilbur is being developed by a partnership between Civitas Communities and RAF Capital (The Willoughby, GlenCastle), and the architectural design is a joint venture between Nathan Kirkman of DNK Architecture & Development and Rick Blanchard of CleverHouse Corp, and contractor Tecton Inc.

The Wilbur will be located across the street from a ground-up co-living project in Atlanta, The Eastside Flats, also being developed by RAF Capital and Civitas Communities.

The 190 bedroom, five-story Eastside Flats will offer an amenity deck, along with co-living accommodations, according to Eden.

  1. While it is a great addition to the neighborhood, I am concerned with parking and Mostly accessibility to the parking itself which is on Wilbur Ave. Wilbur Avenue is an extremely narrow street, with very tied turns from Memorial and already facing traffic and parking issues for its residents. Adding the only parking entrance to this Commercial complex on Wilbur Ave is only going to make the situation much worse for everyone. When projects are approved do they consider these issues and the negative impact to the quality of life of its neighbors? Can they reconsider moving the parking entrance to Memorial?
    Thanks,
    JR
