The home furnishings retailer’s last day in business was Thursday, owner Bobby Berk told What Now Atlanta in a Facebook message Monday.

“We’ve decided to pull out of Atlanta and focus on other markets,” Berk said.

The 8,000-square-foot two story store, at  805 Peachtree Street, was the company’s largest location, according to a press release. Bobby Berk Home opened in Midtown on November 25, 2011, replacing two stores, both of which were also home furnishings stores.

Bobby Berk Home has locations in New York, Miami and Los Angles, and select retailers carry the line in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Texas, according to the retailer’s website.

Berk is in the process of opening a store in Midtown Miami, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page.

What will open in Bobby Berk Home’s place has not been confirmed.

  1. So within 2 years, they go from being all excited about the Atlanta market and opening their largest store to deciding to exit Atlanta to focus on other markets. Hmm…something sounds strange. Either they didn’t do a good job scouting Atlanta’s love for Bobby Berk or, one again, a landlord was greedy and inflexible and will now have empty space on his hands.

    1. The space was at 805 Peachtree, not at Viewpoint (855 Peachtree). They had just shrunk their space a few months ago but apparently that was still too big.

  2. I live at 805 Peachtree and think the retail space there has so much potential. The landlord continues to find tenants that underwhelm and serve absolutely no need in the neighborhood. Here are a few ideas: gelateria or ice cream shop, bakery, indie coffee bar, wine shop… or of course another overpriced furniture store! 🙁
