Record producer Raymond “Benzino” Scott is looking to relocate his now-shuttered Marietta Benzino’s Crab Trap to Midtown.

The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta reality T.V. star is taking over the Hi-Five Diner space, a manager at the soon-to-shutter Midtown restaurant, confirmed in a call to What Now Atlanta (WNA) Tuesday.

Hi-Five Diner will close its doors Sunday, November 13, the Midtown eatery late-Tuesday announced on its Facebook page:

We are sad to announce that Hi-Five Diner’s last day of service will be this Sunday, November 13, 2016, Over time, we have come to realize that during our busy brunch shifts when the patio is full, the incredibly small size of our kitchen is simply not equipped to keep up with service. Rather than shrink our menu or change our concept, we have instead decided to close and search for a new home for Hi-Five Diner; we can’t make any promises, but there have been a lot of landlords interested, and we are evaluating our options.

In the meantime, we want to thank all our regulars that have made this place special, and of course our amazing staff that worked their butts off to provide the best possible boozy brunch experience to our friends in Midtown.

WNA readers became suspicious late last week that the Bezoria-adjacent restaurant might close when a temporary Benzino’s Crab Trap sign was placed next to the Hi-Five sign.

But on several attempts by WNA to confirm the news late-last week, sources initially denied the rumors claiming the temporary signage was for a television-show related shoot.

Shortly after WNA spoke with a Hi-Five manager, Benzino’s magazine Hip Hop Weekly published an article covering the restaurant’s “grand opening” party Thursday complete with a photo gallery of the event, prompting us to reopen the case.

The official opening for Benzino’s Crab Trap has not been confirmed.
