The quick-service restaurant, which got its start as a stall in the market nine years ago, closed its doors for good Friday, Owner Matt Hinton announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page last week.

“We are not simply closing the shop but we are moving the operation to a new location—our first shop outside the Perimeter—in Tucker,” according to the announcement.

“If you have been paying attention, you know that Tucker, Georgia is killing it right now and Bell Street is very happy to begin a new thing there. So, we will miss The Curb Market and all our friends who make it what it is. We are grateful for our time there, but it is time to make way for the next scrappy upstart to do good things in our place.”

The new Bell Street Burritos, at 4053 Lawrenceville Hwy, was first announced in 2018.

It could open any day now, according to Hinton’s Facebook post.

“We will have a soft opening within a month and will announce our grand opening with all kinds of crazy give-aways and what-have-yous shortly thereafter.”

Bell Street Burritos still operates locations in Buckhead and Old Fourth Ward.

At one point the restaurant had an outpost in the Irwin Street Market and on the Westside.
