bartaco, a chain restaurant offering a variety of tacos and other Mexican dishes, is moving into 2950 New Paces Ferry Road SE, replacing the former Guaco Joe’s. Guaco Joe’s closed its doors ahead of the 2020 New Year, as What Now Atlanta previously reported.

bartaco is anticipated to open during summer 2022 in Vinings Jubilee, according to a press release.
Inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, southern California and Uruguay, bartaco provides street food with a focus on tacos alongside freshly squeezed juices, specialty cocktails, and beer straight out of the bottle.
“Scott Lawton (Co-Founder and CEO of bartaco) and I grew up together in Vinings,” David Cochran, CEO and President of Paces Properties, the owner of Vinings Jubilee, said in the release. “We used to walk from our neighborhood to the New York Pizza Exchange, which was across the train tracks, but to get there, you had to cut through the church parking lot. Fast forward 35 years, I had since bought the church building, turned it into retail space, and called Scott to tell him that a great space had become available and would be perfect for bartaco. Funny how things work in life. We are simply ecstatic for Scott and his bartaco team to become a part of the Vinings Jubilee family.”
The new location joins three other bartaco locations in Atlanta, including Chastain Park, Inman Park and West Midtown.
“When David called me to tell me about this special location, I knew I wanted it to be our next home for bartaco,” Lawton said. “Vinings holds many memories for both of us, and we’re looking forward to bringing a taste of the bartaco life to the neighborhood.”
bartaco CEO Scott Lawton did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
