The Barrelhouse later this year will reopen in the former Cast Iron space in Old Fourth Ward, Eater Atlanta Thursday first reported.

Amanda Feathers, the gastropub’s managing partner, confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta.

The Barrelhouse was previously situated on 5th Street in Midtown and closed earlier this year at the expiration of its lease with plans to relocate.

At the time of its temporary closure, restaurant officials had not yet disclosed where it would reopen.

For seven years, The Barrelhouse was situated at its Georgia Tech locale.

“We are adding exciting updates to our menu including our signature burgers, classic cocktails and a great selection of local beers on tap,” James Brooks, owner of The Barrelhouse, said in a prepared statement.

“The Barrelhouse will continue to be the perfect place to share a meal with friends, relax over a beer, or catch the big game on TV. With a spacious patio and walking distance from the Beltline, we can’t wait to be the ‘living room’ for Old Fourth Ward residents and other in-town neighbors.”

Expect an early fall 2018 opening in its new Old Fourth Ward home.

Before Cast Iron pulled the plug earlier this year, 701-5 Highland Avenue NE was home to Last Word and P’cheen before that.

Two additional concepts are coming soon to the same Highland Avenue corner.

Field Day and Everyday from Charleston’s Queen Street Grocery Owner Rob Bouton next month will open across the street.

The cafe and market respectively are replacing the now-shuttered Across the Street Mexican restaurant and its adjacent market.

Construction is underway at the space.
