“We will of course keep you posted and updated on the opening date and opening of Baraonda number 2,” Owners Costanzo Astarita and Mario Maccarrone wrote in the email.

But the Baraonda space won’t sit dark long. New owners, who spent $795,000 to take over the furnished space, will open an “upscale restaurant and lounge,” in Baraonda’s place. That’s according to Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, the firm that represented the seller in the deal. Josovitz told What Now Atlanta in an email that he is waiting for “permission” to reveal the incoming owners.

Baraonda’s new home, expected to surface in early 2022, will be in the Adley City Springs apartment complex. Guests can expect the exact same concept — from the menu to the staff to the management.

“We wanted to be the pioneers of Midtown Atlanta and thanks to all for making our dream come true,” the email continued. “It has been a joyful ride, to say the least.

Astarita and Maccarrone did not disclose the reason for leaving the nearly 6,000 square-foot space behind, and a restaurant that was bringing in $3,500,000 a year, Josovitz said.
