Bacchanalia and Star Provisions today broke ground on the duo’s new location one mile west of its current home, on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard in West Midtown.

The restaurants announced the groundbreaking on the Star Provisions Facebook page Friday morning.

On the company website, Star Provisions has shared new renderings of what the new space would look like, designed by global architecture firm Perkins + Will.

  1. Perkins and Wills renderings of the spaces are more interesting in their demographics than the interiors themselves.

    Despite the large African & Asian American population in Atlanta–there is only one discernible black man in the dining room rendering–and you really have to look hard to see him.

    Asian–maybe one person in the same scene.

    Millennials–all over the place in each scene. White millenials.

    Over 50 people–other than the 2 older guys by the bar in one scene, the only other 50+ people are servers. All this despite the fact that it is probably the 50+ crowd that supports this up-market emporium and restaurant.

    Last and strangest–the scene with the guy in the blue vest walking down a corridor—not sure what they’re featuring here except that our shopper is obviously excited about his purchase.
