Lebanese barbecue food truck Babakabab which can often be spotted around lunchtime in Midtown and Buckhead, will open its inaugural brick-and-mortar location at the Chattahoochee Food Works food hall in the Upper Westside.
It’s one of the first food tenants to be formally announced for the 16,000-square-foot space which, when complete, will house around 30 food stalls and a test kitchen in a “melting pot of local, national and international fare.”
At Babakabab’s, diners mix and match their chosen portion of marinated chicken, beef kebabs, or falafel, over a basmati rice or lettuce blend, in an efficient and quick-moving “build your own box” format.
The food stall will mirror the food truck operationally, Co-Owner Samer Bakri tells What Now Atlanta, and will feature an expanded menu with more options that complement the food truck offerings.
A few special items and new dishes, “will really bring out the Lebanese culture and add our vibe to the food hall,” Bakri said.
A summer 2020 opening is expected, but Bakri and his team aren’t certain about whether it will be early, mid- or late-season.
For those who enjoy Babakabab’s roving intown dine and dash set-ups, fret not, the food truck operations will continue alongside the Chattahoochee Food Works stall.
