The restaurant, currently a Wednesday popup at Whoopsie’s in Reynoldstown, hopes to find a brick-and-mortar home in the city.

Those who have had the luck of trying the delicious pairing of Southern food and fantastic wines at Joshua Fryer’s popup are in for some good news: Long Snake Wine Bar is on the hunt for a permanent location in the Big Peach.

Fryer, former manager of  8ARM, has celebrated Wine Wednesdays with his nighttime popup at Whoopsie’s (1 Moreland Ave SE Suite C) since March. Now, he’s partnering with two other vets of the Atlanta bar and restaurant scene: Danni Song and Johnny Martinez. The trio is centering their search for a space in East Atlanta and Poncey-Highland. 

As things are at their pop-up, Long Snake plans to keep a seasonal food menu at the new location, emphasizing fresh ingredients and Southern flavors. Influences from overseas are also in play — take the Mushroom-Ramp Smørrebrød, a spin on a Danish flatbread that uses local ingredients, or the Lamb Fried Rice, which features wild leeks and orange blossom crema. 

While the new location will offer a small selection of intriguing cocktails, these will all be wine-based. At its heart, the Long Snake will continue to do what it does best: food and wine, of which there will be a wide variety of options by the bottle and glass. Music is also on the menu. 

While there is no set opening date for the establishment, Fryer told Atlanta Magazine that they are focusing on finding a location first.

The owner didn’t immediately return What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
