The developer signed a lease with Agon Sports & Entertainment to run the venue, according to a press release from Atlanta Dairies.

Agon owns The Georgia Theater in Athens and Variety Playhouse in Little 5 Points.

Further adding to the team’s credibility, Alan Sher, one owner of Terminal West will assisting in operating the concept.

The announcement comes at a time when music venues in Atlanta are experiencing turbulence. It is not known whether The Masquerade’s will stay in Old Fourth Ward, and Smith’s Olde Bar was almost pushed out of Morningside due to forthcoming development.

With impending large scale developments 1050 Howell Mill Road and Star Metals in West Midtown, Atlantans can only hope Northside Tavern will keep a grip on its location.

The anticipated opening is in mid to late 2017.
