The multiplex will open in Doraville’s Assembly Yards mixed-use in 2021, according to a press release.

With 40 locations across America, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has earned a reputation for requiring its audiences to maintain “proper cinemagoing etiquette.”

The boutique American cinema chain is also known for its movie parties, in-seat dining, and dedication to the quality of the pictures it shows through technology and the diversity of films.

Developer The Integral Group announced the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema plans alongside three new partners for the forthcoming 165-acre mixed-use redevelopment of the former General Motors plant.

Paces Properties has joined the development team as the retail partner, StreetLights Residential will serve as the multifamily partner, and Ashton Woods Homes as the single-family home builder.

Paces Properties is the developer behind Krog Street Market, Larkin on Memorial, and the under-construction Atlanta Dairies.

At Assembly, Paces will curate 125,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment space including a 16,000-square-foot food hall.

The partnerships with Paces, StreetLights, and Ashton Woods combined will add $175 million of development to the site.

Earlier this summer, Assembly launched its NAVYA autonomous shuttle, the first-of-its-kind in the region.

Serta Simmons Bedding also celebrated the grand opening of its new 250,000-square-foot headquarters at Assembly recently.

Upon completion, the multi-billion, multi-phased Assembly Yards will encompass more than 10 million square feet of multifamily housing, corporate office space, creative office space, dining, retail, and entertainment.

The first set of retail openings is slated for the first quarter of 2021 and will continue rolling open through 2022.
