The land is the future site of the Druid Hill Manor project, which would include an apartment building, hotel, office, retail and restaurant space. The apartment complex is planned to be six stories high with 382 living units, with 10 percent of those units set aside for workforce housing in accordance with the city’s inclusionary zoning law. The developer, Related Group, is seeking a tax abatement for the affordable housing units.

The development would also include a seven-story hotel with 140 rooms, a four story building containing 55,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space and a seven story parking deck with 745 parking spaces.

The owner of the land, Scarlett & Associates Inc, requested for the land at 2601 Briar Cliff Road to be annexed into the City of Brookhaven in 2019, along with a rezoning request to build the multi-use development.

This is the seventh annexation approved by the city in recent years. Past annexations include the Woodcliff Community, Children’s Healthcare, and the LaVista Park Community.  The development would replace the Briar Cliff Shopping Center, a few restaurants, an auto shop, and a car wash.
