De Haan founded Andrews Entertainment District in 2002, and the area quickly became a Buckhead hot spot.

It appears de Haan already has new plans in the works and will be revealing future endeavors shortly, but no news outside of the closings has been announced.

Check out de Haan’s full statement on his Facebook page below:

“After 13 years in Buckhead, Andrews Entertainment District will be closing after its New Year’s Eve party. These venues include East Andrews, The Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, Stout Irish Sports Pub, Cellar 56, Czar Ice Bar, Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine, Burn Social Club, Prohibition, and Sal’s Pizzeria.

We are grateful for the many years of patronage. Please come by in the days to come, and say goodbye to a Buckhead institution. The Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, has a stellar closing line up: Steve-O, Norm Macdonald, Bryan Callen, George Wallace, and T.J. Miller who will be performing our New Year’s Eve show. The rest of the venues will be having specials and tastings. Our future is bright, and we will have many new announcements in the coming weeks and months ahead.

Our deepest gratitude for the many years of joyous memories, laughs, celebrations, and friendships!

Cheers,
Stephen de Haan and The Team at Andrews Entertainment District”

    1. The announcement stated that East Andrews, The Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, Stout Irish Sports Pub, Cellar 56, Czar Ice Bar, Stillhouse Craft Burgers & Moonshine, Burn Social Club, Prohibition, and Sal’s Pizzeria would close, so it appears the retail stores will stay open.

  1. The “13 years” part has me confused – I know East Andrews Bar was open much longer (and won a best buckhead bar award in 2000 even)….was there a management change?

Does anyone know if the closing owner or Edens (property manager) is selling the spaces back out to restaurant/bar zoning?

Or is this one of the many spots of Buckhead Village land that has recently been purchased for a high rise (similar to Henris Bakery location and a handful of other adjacent lots around West Paces and Roswell Road)?

With the tight road space this area seems to be going through what the original strip of Buckhead Village experienced prior to the final demo of the Pharr/Peachtree area for ‘Streets of Buckhead’ now Buckhead Atlanta.

    1. Hi Sandy! There was a management change in 2002. De Haan made it seem in the quote above like there are future plans in the works but didn’t give any specifics regarding location. There’s been murmurs of more residential development in the area but nothing concrete has come out yet. We’ll keep you posted with the latest developments as soon as we know more!

  2. This property became a victim to the overwhelming demand for prime real estate. Because of the location and the booming demand for Buckhead property, I am sure an attractive offer was made. The future of this property appears to be well suited for another high rise building.
