Six-time “World Pizza Champion,” restaurateur, and television personality Bruno DiFabio is bringing his Amore Cucina and Bar concept to Brookhaven.
The “pizza-forward” Italian eatery will replace the now-shuttered PizzaFire franchise—which closed its doors over the weekend—in Town Brookhaven, at 804 Town Blvd.
DiFabio is also the founder of PizzaFire which is on track to have 80 locations by the end of 2018, he told What Now Atlanta Wednesday in a telephone interview.
“We were disappointed with the numbers but we did not want to lose the location,” DiFabio said.
“So we decided to bring Amore Cucina and Bar to the community because we felt it was more appropriate and upscale.”
The Town Brookhaven Amore Cucina and Bar will be the concept’s third location joining existing outposts in Connecticut and New York.
Converting the space into the new concept will take four to six weeks.
A separate bar area with seating for 18 will be added and the main dining room will have booths to make the restaurant feel more intimate, he said.
For the design think “bright colors, murals, old brick, and soft woodwork.”
As for the food, “I feel like I make the best pizza in the world, hands down. I would put my pizza up against anybody.”
Even up against Giovanni Di Palma of the Antico fame, DiFabio said.
“I will go toe-to-toe with [Giovanni]. I will not take a back seat to anyone. I wish him all the best, but get ready to make some room at the top. Our pizza is absolutely superior. As a matter of fact, I challenge him to a pizza contest. No one better in the world than me.”
Amore Cucina and Bar is expected to debut in February 2018.
