No closing date has officially been set yet, but a post to the restaurant’s Facebook page earlier this week suggests that Alfredo’s Italian Restaurant’s last day will be February 29, 2016.

New gift card terms to all new & existing gift card holders. We apologize for any inconvenience. Starting January 01, 2016 we will no longer be selling gift cards. Starting now gift cards expire February 29, 2016.

First opened in 1974, the Italian restaurant of 41 years, has not yet announced plans for relocation. Owner Perry Alvarez was not immediately available for comment.

If Alfredo’s looks to relocate, where should it reopen? Let us know in the comments section below!

oh no, a dingy restaurant serving shitty italian food is closing! let all the southerners who think this is “authentic” just because it’s old and has wood paneling in there cry in sadness!

Reply to  but wait,

but wait: bad day. It doesn’t matter if Alfredo’s serves “authentic” Italian food. Anyone who has actually been to Italy realizes that “Italian food” isn’t one thing. Alfredo’s is an authentic experience, which has endeared many people over many years. There is quite the committed following. Given that, Alfredo’s should relocate to a near by location (on Cheshire Bridge?), and try to find another hole-in-the wall space if there are any good ones remaining. Any respectable commercial broker in the local area should be able to help them find a suitable, not entirely darling location. If there are no more… Read more »

Why all the hostility toward apartments? I have heard no info that, if in fact Alfredo’s is closing, it is because they are being run off by development. I love Alfredo’s and hope they do not close. If they are closing on Cheshire Bridge I hope they plan to reopen somewhere else. How about the Old 4th Ward where there is much demonstrated proof that good food and development are not mutually exclusive.

I hope they keep the charm…and the Godfather feel!
They should open in Virginia Highlands. Take over where Timone’s was. That would be fantastic!!!

I and my husband have spent many wonderful evenings at Alfrado’s over the last 41 years, and am so disappointed to learn of the closing. I really do hope Perry will re-open soon in the general area, or between there and Northlake area. Just will await news, but hope it’s soon, and hope it will be in the general N/E Atlanta area (with good Parking space!)
