Matthew Shirah, the CEO of Scofflaw, was not immediately available for comment. However, a press release noted that Scofflaw would occupy a 500-square-foot space in Oxton, the foot food-and-retail district. Opening in 2024, guests will have full access to the adjoining courtyard, where patio tables will spill out of the brewery under the canopy of mature trees.

Scofflaw’s new location will serve as its fourth taproom and brewery, where visitors can taste signature brews, such as Scofflaw’s flagship Basement IPA, and a versatile array of unique offerings brewed and served exclusively at the Buckhead taproom.

“We can’t wait to be Buckhead’s first brewery and to bring the experience of Scofflaw to an even larger audience of Atlanta beer lovers. Guests can expect classic fan favorites as well as some fun new beers only available at our Oxton location,” Joe McIntyre Scofflaw’s Brewmaster and head of recipe development said of the upcoming development.

The Ardent Companies (Ardent), Westbridge, and Bridger Properties are behind the development of Oxten.

Atlanta-based Square Feet Studio Architects is leading the design to extend beyond the buildings and into its courtyard under a canopy of mature trees—ardent plans to break ground in the third quarter of this year.

JLL and Cushman & Wakefield handle office leasing for Piedmont Center, and retail leasing for Oxton is handled by Bridger Properties.

  1. While they’re at it, they should add sidewalks from the street to the buildings. With the exception of a small gravel trail in front of one building, a pedestrian must walk in the driveway / traffic lanes into the parking lot to access the office complex. This office complex was built back in the 1980’s and they never planned for walking access. Now that they are adding retail and restaurant uses, the pedestrian should be considered in the build-out.
