101 Bagel Cafe is opening a third location. Owner Jin Yang has signed a lease outside of Marietta at 4811 Lower Roswell Road. Yang also owns the cafe’s locations on Cobb Parkway in Atlanta and in downtown Duluth, and says that in addition to the new spot in Marietta, a Dunwoody location is also in the works.

The idea behind 101 Bagel Cafe is simple: bring the Brooklyn water bagel to Georgia. New York City’s bagel recipe has been long sought after by other cities and states for years, but 101 Bagel Cafe claims to have finally succeeded in crafting the perfect Brooklyn-style bagel. The secret, according to Yang, is the water. 101 Bagel Cafe prides itself on the way it boils its bagels, giving them a nice outer crust and a chewy, doughy inside.

101 Bagel Cafe makes all its bagels fresh daily, so if you order an egg and cheese on an everything bagel, they’re boiling and baking that bagel onsite, and turning it into a sandwich made specifically for you.

According to Yang, the Marietta location will boast an outdoor patio, complete with an awning and plenty of seating. “We want to create something permanent and nice for customers,” he says.

Yang hopes to be open by September, so whether you’re a New York transplant new to the area, or a born-and-bred Georgian, you should be able to get a taste of Brooklyn’s favorite breakfast by the end of the summer.

  1. These sound nice, but if you want a real NY bagel, Sunny’s Bagel & Deli in Kennesaw makes the absolute best. In fact, these are the best bagels I’ve had outside Manhattan. Period!

  2. You mean he STOLE his formula from The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company after being a franchisee for years. I’m good. I’ll go to BB’s bagels in Alpharetta instead of purchasing from a fraud.
