Emory Students and Alumni to launch new concept in former lounge space

UPDATE (September 17, 2012):
The Nest reopens as Scoreboards Bar and Grill
Emory students and alumni are hard at work creating the next big thing — no, not the next Facebook — these youngsters like to drink (who can blame them?).

The Nest will open near Emory University during the week of April 25, according to the Emory Wheel.

The new bar and restaurant will take the place of the now shuttered Selam Lounge at 1371 Clairmont Road in Decatur will serve classic American food, the report notes, and will boast an ultra lounge dubbed “The Rabbit Hole.”

“The Rabbit Whole” will include a 3,000-square-foot dance floor.

An ad placed on Craigslist seeking future employees specifically requests “attractive” staff and mentions food items that include everything from “crab and goat cheese fritters, pesto-stuffed airline chicken breast, to beer battered onion rings.”

Kevin Wu, Emory student and “chief developer” of The Nest, compares his restaurant venture to the Ivy in Buckhead.

And although the bar is geared primarily towards Emory attendees, the student’s behind The Nest plan to cater to the entire neighborhood.

So will The Nest garner neighborhood patrons or strictly act as a college hangout?
