Arkansas-based 7 Brew Coffee is planning a major expansion in the state, with the first location expected to open later this year.

In a phone interview, Richard Maddox said he has signed a five-year development agreement with 7 Brew to expand the concept throughout a large portion of Georgia. That includes the metro Atlanta area and south Georgia.

Maddox said he hopes to open 96 locations across the state.

A permit was recently filed in Gwinnett County to bring 7 Brew to 3253 Stone Mountain Highway in Snellville.

But Maddox said the first three locations to open will be in Thomasville, Macon and Warner Robins. The Thomasville coffee shop is set to launch in December, he said, with the other two locations to follow at the beginning of 2023.

Then, the plan is to open locations in Snellville, Peachtree City and Newnan, he said.

“We probably have 15 other sites that are under due diligence,” Maddox said.

The first 7 Brew opened in Rogers, Ark. in 2017. The brand currently operates 24 locations, according to its website. A big expansion was also announced earlier this year in Florida.

Maddox said what sets the concept apart from other coffee shops is its work culture. A video on the company’s website shows young workers dancing to music while pouring coffee drinks and having fun while taking drink orders on iPads in the parking lot.

“We play really loud music in the stand and they are dancing, laughing, and having fun serving coffee to the tune of three to four cars a minute,” said Maddox, a franchisee of other restaurant chains including Slims Chicken and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. “We are having fun. We are serving great coffee, and we are doing it at warp speed.”

The menu at 7 Brew includes classic coffee drinks, such as lattes, mochas and breves. It also offers seven speciality drinks, such as a blondie (caramel and vanilla breve) or a brunette (hazelnut and caramel mocha). In addition, it serves energy drinks, teas, sodas, smoothies and shakes.

According to the company, “7 Brew is so much more than just a coffee stand. It’s the concept of cultivating kindness and joy with every drink – through our service, speed, quality, energy and atmosphere. It’s contagious and it’s changing the drive-thru coffee industry.”

A call to 7 Brew’s corporate office seeking more information was not immediately returned. An email to a company founder was also not returned.
