Though doctors told her that she was a healthy kid, 10-year-old Sarah Semelsberger was constantly plagued with illnesses, be it sinus infections, ear infections, or headaches.

“Getting headaches and migraines before the age of 10 isn’t healthy, but because they were manageable with medication they were deemed not a risk,” Semelsberger wrote in an email to What Now Atlanta. “I was also diagnosed with anxiety and depression right before I started my undergraduate degree.”

Semelsberger already had her heart set on health care when she started school, but fell in love with chiropractic after interning with her local chiropractor. She ended up at chiropractic school, where she met Dr. Nico Staples from the 100% Chiropractic in Marietta

“It wasn’t until six months to a year into school that I met my mentor, Dr. Nico Staples, who literally changed my life with his adjustments,” Semelsberger wrote. “He allowed my body to do what it was created to do by removing the subluxations and by re-molding my spine back to where it should have been in the first place!”

Now, Dr. Sarah Semelsberger, the former chiropractic patient is opening her own 100% Chiropractic clinic in the Westside Village development. Operating in a 1,400-square-foot space on 2250 Marietta Blvd, Semelsberger hopes to be able to provide children the treatment she lacked growing up.

“I want to make sure everyone knows that Chiropractic care is a more vitalistic and holistic approach to modern day ‘medicine,’” Semelsberger said. “I will be adjusting children in my office as often as I can because I believe in preventative care, meaning if a child has a traumatic birth, which most do, they need to have their spines checked so they can grow up to be healthy and happy kiddos!”

With an estimated opening in late October or early November, this will be the twelfth 100% Chiropractic in Georgia.

“As any first-time business owner, I am nervous, but I am so excited to be able to share my passion and education with the West Midtown community.”
