Attention Burger Chains: More restaurant space available in Midtown

Vickery’s Bar & Grill in Midtown is closing.

Originally opened in 1983, a Facebook posting by Vickery’s Bar and Grill, located at 1106 Crescent Ave. NE, confirms the restaurant will close on Jan. 1, 2011.

Vickery’s has another location in Atlanta at 933 Garrett Street and one in Charleston which serves a variety of dishes from various regions and cultures.

There are currently no details for what concept will open in its place, but we can’t help to assume with the way things are going that it’ll be a burger joint.

More details to come.

  1. The food was really inconsistent. My burger was OK and my girlfriend didn’t like her sandwich – the chicken was too tough to eat… so we never went back because we have better options. Also, the waitress was kind of a bit*h. It’s a cool spot though. Hopefully something better will take its place soon.

  2. Very sad to hear the closing of Vickery’s Midtown. I go there every Wednesday thru Saturday. As many do because of our favorite neighborhood bartender Christy. Mosty of us went to Vickery’s because of the atmosphere, people, and great drink specials. I am definately not interested in a “burger joint” replacing Vickery’s.

  3. For those of you too young, or who helped gentrify Midtown, need to know that back in the day, Vickery’s was THE place. In regrettable hindsight, it’s kind of cool to think that it has closed, as a new generation would kill it’s original appeal. I remember the patio being packed to the hilt in the middle of November when the Stones were in town. To all the greats: Elaine, Natalie, Robe, and too many others to remember. Oh, the memories of petting Dave on the way out after my 8th martini! RIP old friend!
