Ruby Tuesday restaurant closed their Buckhead location at 3345 Lenox Road early this week with plans for re-branding this and other under performing locations.

Reopening as Truffles Cafe, a restaurant franchise that launched in 1983, the restaurant conversion will be complete for an Nov. 15 grand opening.

In July, Ruby Tuesday entered into a licensing agreement with Gourmet Market Inc. which allows the restaurant chain to operate multiple restaurants under the Truffles name, according to Lisa Schoolcraft with the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Truffles Cafe’s website offers differing menus by location though a majority of the menu items seem to consist of soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch, and a signature chicken pot pie, house-breaded fried shrimp, pasta, ribs, steaks, and a variety of desserts for dinner.

  1. Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday. Who could hang a name on you, when you change with every new day? Still, I’m going to miss you.

  3. I was so excited when I saw the signs going up…Truffles Cafe! I started wondering “could this be the same great place that was on Hilton Head in the ’80’s”? I lived there when the first Truffles opened and due to it being so good, it remains open, and successful! Now, YES….this is the same group and after enjoying a great lunch there on December 24th, 2010, I can tell you it is theg reat food, with a great team, for great fun. They are here to succeed and succeed I hope they do. So Atlanta, go now, go often, and enjoy Truffles Cafe……this old faithful from the early days sure will! Cheers in 2011 to us all! JC

  4. went on saturday night. just spoke to a friend who also had a below average visit there. unimpressed hilton head regular. basically a polished ruby tuesday. no surprise there. same quality food. just higher prices. certainly a houston’s wannabee. don’t waste your time and money. over-priced steaks. server actually asked if i wanted cajun seasoning and bleu cheese on an angus ribeye. really? great way to kill a steak. let me get some ketchup on it too. spin dip was okay if you like soggy/greasy tortilla chips. the best thing of the night was listening to the three servers chit chat in the corner behind us about how bad the place is. i learned they make very little money. two of them spoke very poorly of the management. it was way too dark. the server actually gave me a flashlight to read the menu. what a joke! i actually have a time-share on hilton head in sea pines at the monarch and frequent several times a year. this is not the truffles from hilton head.. it may be the same owners but someone else is “steering the ship”. read (open2change) above. can you say “employee”? houston’s is next door. i don’t mind waiting for a good experience and better food. just thought everyone should have a real, unbiased, proper review.

  5. Everything Ruby’s touches goes bad. If you need to rebrand and expand your cuisines, why run it with the same mentality that required you to rebrand in the first place. You cannot run a fresh upscale concept with a microwave mentality. That is why Jim n Nicks pulled the franchise , why Marlin and Ray’s is failing and why Wok Hay and Truffles will not succeed.

Lunacy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Ruby’s buys a concept that works, or buys into a successful business, then changes everything about the concept that made them buy it. Stockholders had better ask questions before the 1972 management ruins 2011 money.
