A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta late last week for Tom And Chee’s forthcoming outpost, at 1085 Howell Mill Road NW.

An estimated $210,000 will be spent building out the 2,635-square-foot space.

The Westside Tom And Chee will be a “new prototype with garage door access to outdoor seating” that is “characteristic of this modern community and ideal for the area’s young professionals.”

Tom And Chee began as a food tent on a public square in Cincinnati, OH. After expanding in the Midwest, the company secured a $600,000 investment for a 30 percent stake in 2013 from Barbara Corcoran, an investor on ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

The grilled cheese and tomato soup joint has expanded to 33 locations across the country with seven additional locations “coming soon,” including the West Midtown spot, according to the company’s website.
