“Good morning! It’s game day folks! @Timonespizza comes back to life today at 11AM! Come by today for a slice or a deli sandwich…,” Eyester tweeted.

The restaurant, at 1409 North Highland Avenue NE, closed for business late last year to undergo remodeling and some menu changes.

Now reopened, Timone’s boasts a deli component serving up a variety of Italian antipasto, meats, and take-out items, in addition to its pizza pies and salads.

Timone’s was originally slated to reopen in November of last year, according to a tweet from the restaurant in September. As of January 13, the Italian joint’s website still states Timone’s is “closed for the next two weeks.”

Did Eyester bite off more than he can chew?

Shortly after opening Timone’s the first time around, Eyester had recently opened The Family Dog followed by plans for Diner at Atlantic Station which is also behind schedule (Diner, was reportedly going to open at the end of last year.)

  1. Just stopped in to check it out and brought home an Italian sub. More of an Italian take on a muffaletta, but delicious. I was there before noon and there were a few other groups ordering food. The only real physical change is that the bar area has been taken over by a large meat counter that runs the length of the front windows, and there are floor to ceiling shelves in that area with grocery items like boxed pasta, canned tomatoes, and an assortment of sauces and spreads.

  2. Went to Timone’s for lunch on Friday w/ a friend…shared a rueben and a pimento cheese sandwich…both were amongst the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend checking it out.
