“I signed the lease [Tuesday], and Gateway is a good spot for us to keep our current customers and serve new ones in Sandy Springs,” Moriuchi told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Tuesday.

Taka Sushi must move out of its current space at 375 Pharr Road in Buckhead due to a new residential project from developer Trammell Crow.

Moriuchi opened the sushi restaurant in 2002 and announced the closing of the current location in September on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The new space at Gateway will face Roswell Road between Sprouts Farmers Market and CVS Pharmacy. Moriuchi plans to open for business in March 2016.

Do you think Taka Sushi and Passion will be able to keep its customers from Buckhead and become a Sandy Springs staple? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below!
