Self-guided Tour of Loews Hotels’ Mixed-use Development on Atlanta’s Midtown Mile

what now, atlanta? insiders Bring You A View From The Top

Slated to open in April 2010, Loews Hotels announced it would open its first property in Atlanta back in September 2007. The centerpiece of 12th & Midtown, a luxury mixed-use development spanning four city blocks in Midtown Atlanta, Loews Atlanta Hotel will feature 414 guest rooms, fitness center and spa services, signature restaurant, lobby bar and more than 24,000 square feet of meeting space.

The hotel will be the focal point of a $500 million contemporary urban mixed-use development featuring 750,000 square feet of Class A office space, more than 60,000 square feet of flagship retail space and 60 luxury residences.

After taking a self-guided tour of the property at 11 p.m. this past Friday, Feb. 12, it is fair to say that if Loews Hotels has done anything right, it is with the placement of this property. The views are the best we have seen from anywhere in the city.

The photo above is a view of Atlanta towards the south from floor 36 of the office portion of the Loews property. With windows from ceiling to floor in office space that flows in a circular direction around a center elevator shaft and restrooms, the view would be reason enough to go to work.

The top level, or what would be considered the penthouse of the office building, has been leased and built out. However, judging by our trip from empty floor to empty floor, with an opening in April 2010, it doesn’t seem plausible that Loews will have leased all available space by opening.

Luxury at it’s best, for those businesses that can afford the lifestyle, cheers to inspirational views to get the creative juices flowing.
