Anyone Want To Butter Our Pun? Possibly Rising Roll?

Rising Roll Gourmet, a sandwich franchise, will be opening downtown at the start of the summer.

Taking suite E, the corner space at 127 Peachtree Street, Rising Roll will open next to the American Institute of Architects Atlanta and across the street from the Equitable building.

The space encompasses 2211 square footage inside and a 600 square foot patio with an asking gross monthly rent of $5343 according to leasing information posted on the windows.

Rising Roll Gourmet began operating in Atlanta as Uptown Gourmet Sandwich Co. in 1996. After one year in business, Atlanta Magazine rated Rising Roll “the best sandwich shop in Atlanta.”

Rising Roll Gourmet offers an array of freshly made sandwiches, salads and grilled Panini. Some sandwich combinations Rising Roll Gourmet is most known for include the “Killer Bleu Turkey” with crumbled blue cheese, bacon, tomato and 1000 Island dressing and “Spicy Crab”, a baked crab cake topped with Chipotle mayonnaise, pepper jack cheese and coleslaw.

Competing with several nearby restaurants on Broad Street, traffic from Georgia State University and nearby businesses should be adequate.

However, within walking distance of the new Rising Roll Gourmet location, there is a Quiznos across the street, another a few blocks away, a Subway and several other sandwich and deli style restaurants including the ever-popular Rueben’s Deli.

It will be interesting to monitor the market and to see who captures the lunch crowd. Price point in consideration, Subway and Quiznos might be able to hold their own. What say you?
