The 12th & Midtown development in a press release Tuesday announced Republic of Couture (ROC) will open at the Midtown Atlanta landmark mixed-use development, a $2 billion project located at Peachtree and 12th Street.

ROC is scheduled to open spring 2013 and will be located at 1075 Peachtree (Phase 2 of 12th & Midtown) in a 6,500-square-foot flagship space on Peachtree Street, according to the release.

“ROC is unlike any other store in the Atlanta market and is the perfect tenant to kick off the fashion component at 12th & Midtown,” Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president of retail leasing for 12th & Midtown and Selig Enterprises, said in the release.

“With its broad array of price points and designer collections, ROC will undoubtedly become a leading shopping destination for Atlanta’s fashion conscious.”

ROC, a multi-brand retailer offering men’s and women’s fashions, shoes and accessories, will be the first national fashion tenant to open at 12th & Midtown. The flagship Atlanta store will be the seventh location for the company, which was founded in 2002.

Linda Miller of LM Global Retail Services represented the tenant in this transaction.

  1. This is terrific. If the price points are similar to those for the same clothes in Buckhead, this could definitely do well. On several occasions I have wanted to grab something new to wear but didn’t want to have to deal with the parking/distance associated with shopping at Atlantic Station or Lenox.

  2. Awesome! Finally some actual RETAIL for the Midtown Mile!

BTW, anyone notice that Big Peach Running Company is opening a new store on Peachtree between 5th & 6th (in the former Pedini space).

Both of these new retailers should do well, and hopefully encourage others to join the mix.

  3. Awesome news! Selig is building quality developments which draw quality tenants to Midtown. Novare and Fuqua should pull out their iPads and take notes (or just go away all together, whichever is easier).

  4. I stated in a different thread that I longed for the rebel lovechild of Sid (Mashburn) and Billy (Reid) to open a shop in Midtown. Just to be clear, I doubt that this is the answer to my prayer. After forcing myself to watch the entire video on their website, they seem less like a lovechild and more like a trashy, distant cousin from Europe.
I’m sure I won’t shop there, but I wish them well.

  5. Ew this looks like that Pure store at Lenox Square. Could do well with the Crescent Ave/Club Reign crowd though.

  6. Please keep in mind the one in the Dallas area, if still open, is waaaaay out in a far flung burb in a strip mall. I think you all will find this to be similar to some of the infill stores that have popped up around Lenox and Phipps over the years.

  7. Terrible, just terrible. This city is such a cultural wasteland sometimes, most prominently when dealing with clothing and fashion.

Shuboy, I agree with you – Sid v. 2.0, Opening Ceremony, even a Uniqlo would be so much better.

  8. I dont know why you people who post on here act like we need the most high end flagship retail and culturally unique restaurants in prominent areas. Have you been to SoHo? Herald Square? There are trashier boutiqes in those districts.

    If it lasts…

  9. I’ve never been to ROC, probably won’t shop there and I’m probably not their target anyways (38 year old, “chubby” male), but it seems to me that it’s a good fit for the area. Just curious what clothing stores do you think would have a good impact instead?

  10. @ Chris

What you say about NY is true but there are still much more to offer than Atlanta has especially since we no longer have a real downtown shopping area. Besides Atlantic Station the downtown, midtown area has very little shopping choices without a major ride on Marta or getting in a car. I grew up here and remember when you could find almost anything you wanted by going downtown. There were grocery stores, junk shops, and the two major anchors Davidson’s (Macy’s) and Rich’s. Now there’s nothing. We don’t need a lot of high end shops just options and quality.

  11. Just walked by this evening and the Peachtree street door was open. The interiors look to be finished and the racks are stocked with merchandise. It looks ready for business, the opening must be very soon.
