Midtown grocery store slated for routine remodel.

Publix is renovating one of their Midtown stores.

The grocery store filed a permit with the City of Atlanta last week to remodel an Atlantic Station location.

Renovations include paint, floor and ceiling replacements and other cosmetic upgrades, according to the permit.

Brenda Reid, Publix spokeswoman, told What Now Atlanta in an email Tuesday the renovations are routine.

“We renovate our stores every five years,” Reid said. “It’s our way of keeping up with technological changes and to keep the store updated.”

These routine renovations usually include paint, updating refrigeration systems where needed, changing out shelves where needed and possibly updating the flooring, according to Reid.

“The process can take up to a year,” Reid said.

Atlantic Station’s new parking policy will not affect Publix shoppers as validation will be provided for patrons.

  1. Happy that they’re doing this. It’s not my favorite Publix, but it is very convenient. I assume it means they’re committed to the location and it’s (hopefully) profitable unlike the Brookwood Kroger that is closing.

  2. When you shop at this Publix, do you need to have your parking validated? Will the new parking charge be applied to Publix?

  3. When we lived in Midtown, we were much closer to the Brookwood Kroger but we shopped at this AS Publix instead. It’s a good store. Always clean and well stocked. I’m glad to know the company is committing to the location.

  4. Dear Kroger,

Please pay attention to what Publix is doing intown, you’d be smart to take some notes.

  5. I’ve always liked this Pulix.

    But I HATE ATLANTIC STATION…..

    Thankfully. I have Midtown..

I have Spring Street and I have a much larger Publix there.
that isn’t littered with chicken bones and watermelon seeds and dirty little kids sitting around everywhere.

    and A.S., isn’t in it!!!!

    Midtown that is…
