Tom Murphy, the founder of Murphy’s restaurant, is opening a sister concept in Vinings after operating the Virginia-Highland mainstay for 34 years, Atlanta Magazine reported Monday (What Now Atlanta was first to report in 2013 Murphy was scouting spots for a new location.)

Called Paces & Vine, Murphy’s second restaurant could open mid September, at 4300 Paces Ferry Road, in space most recently occupied by Garrison’s Broiler & Tap in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center, according to the report (Garrison’s shuttered earlier this year.)

The new concept would serve up “neighborhood comfort food” like Gulf red snapper on the plancha, sweet potato ravioli, tuna carpaccio, grilled octopus, and fettuccine with wild mushrooms under the direction of chef Ian Winslade.

  1. If we could only get Murphy’s in VaHi to update their menu. Maybe they have, but 2 years ago I stopped going because it seemed to me the menu was the same as the first time I went there… Perhaps you don’t mess with success but I tired of it.
