Located next door to the newly opened La Tagliatella, Newk’s Eatery is a fast casual concept from the founders of McAlister’s Deli, a quick service restaurant specializing in hand-crafted sandwiches, spuds and other made-to-order menu items.

The restaurant offers salads, personal pizzas and toasted sandwiches, along with homemade desserts and coffee.

Newk’s serves customers through in-café dining and to-go options. Newk’s also offers a “grab-n-go” option, where ready-to-go sandwiches and salads are available for immediate pick-up, as early as 9 a.m.

Headquartered in Jackson, Miss., Newk’s franchises are in 11 other states, including Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee.

  1. Yikes! I went to the Town Brookhaven location once and thought it was awful. It has a high Yelp rating, though, so maybe it just isn’t to my taste. Nonetheless, it’s a strange tenant for this area.

  2. Yeah! If one shitty sandwich shop is going to compete with another shitty sandwich shop for dominance of the world of shitty fast food eateries, in a half-city that is inundated with shitty fast food eateries, they better be good!

  3. Urbanist – There is a certain finesse to sharing your opinion and making your point without belittling and insulting others. You sir, lack that finesse. With all of your negative rants about the goings on in our city, I would like to remind you that no one is making you stay.

Caleb – You do a great job getting the scoop. I enjoy reading your blog, and I check it daily. All too often, however, it becomes a forum for hostility. In my opinion, this leads to a compromise in credibility, and lessens the fun of being in the know.
