“Monique and I had a very similar vision for what we wanted to do, and after looking all over the city this location had the perfect layout for us,” Banks told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Thursday.

Jackson previously operated Go Sleek ATL salon before joining up with Banks. The partnership and vision behind Jackson and Banks has been years in the making for the two salon veterans.

“Our salons merged together over a year ago so that we could save money and do our research for Jackson and Banks. Now the dream is here.”

The salon will primarily focus on extensions but also provide a wide range of hair services, according to its website.

The pair plans to have a soft opening in late November with the grand opening of Jackson and Banks in the first week of December.

Do you think the combined salon approach will make Jackson and Banks the top spot in Midtown? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

  1. If I lived in 905 I wouldn’t be terribly excited about an extension salon in the building… those seem to be a hot target for smash and grabs or drive through the window and grab…

    1. Trust me, no one is excited about this. With all of the retail areas that cater to African-Americans in Atlanta, this has to open in a very white-collar building in the heart of midtown? Blah!!

      1. As a white-collar African American female, your comment seems a tad racist. FYI. Though I understand why this specific type of salon might seem out of place, did race have to be brought into this? White women also receive extensions. If you’re not happy with this type of establishment say that, but don’t condemn other minorities in the process.

        1. I think it’s an awesome idea and I would make sure to support the young ladies. These young ladies are doing something positive in there lives. Keep up the good work ladies.
