The name Olmsted pays homage to the memory of Frederick Law Olmsted, known as “the father of landscape design,” and the shaping of modern-day life in Atlanta, according to the release.

The restaurant, at 1180 Peachtree Street, Suite A, will serve bistro fare combined with daily fresh-fish specials tailored as an “executive-style lunch experience with sophisticated, unobtrusive service,” Monday through Friday, the release notes.

On the weekends, Olmsted will serve brunch in its graden. In the evenings and on the weekends after brunch, the space will be utilized for private events.

Legacy Property Group’s in-house design and development team renovated the space connecting its interior and outdoor garden spaces.

A parking deck is located next to the restaurant with an entrance off of Peachtree Street as well as off of 14th Street. There is a complimentary valet service at both entrances for guests dining in, and validated self-parking for up to two hours.

  1. Olmstead did a preliminary landscape design of Piedmont Park but his design was never built / executed. If they are implying an Olmstead reference to Piedmont Park / Atlanta History …they need to check their facts.

    *awkward

  2. Hey Dude! With regard to Olmsted plan for Piedmont Park; the Olmsted scheme served as a basis of design. True that it was not executed all at once but has taken many years to and many private contributions to get closer to his vision. It is now much closer than at any point since he proposed the plan in 1912…100 years later, we now enjoy a beautiful park. If you lived here in before and up into the 80’s, then you can appreciate the great changes.
Check out “http://www.piedmontpark.org/visit/history.html” for more information and a complete history, such as:
“In 1909, the City elected to transform the decaying fairgrounds into a park and enlisted Olmsted Brothers, pre-eminent landscape architects of the time, (and sons of Frederick Law Olmsted), to develop a master plan for the park. Due to budget limitations, their plan for Piedmont Park was not fully implemented. Nevertheless, the Olmsted Brothers’ 1912 plan greatly influenced the development of Piedmont Park. In fact, the current master plan, adopted by the City of Atlanta and Piedmont Park Conservancy in 1995, honors the brothers’ original vision for the park.”
